Over the months that I’ve been here on Blogger, ( and WordPress ) I have taken some time to look around on here and see what others are up to. Some of the Blogs are AWESOME and very informative and yes, many of them are selling one thing or another.

One thing I have noticed is that THOUSANDS of people on here ( and thousands more on Face Book ) are promoting one ” Biz-Op ” or another! Now I started my Blog to Educate others about the home business industry – and of course, tell you about my book and Free resource guide ” THE Home Business And MLM Survival Guide “ which I honestly believe could Greatly help ANYONE who is trying to succeed in ANY home based business!

I guess the point I’m trying to make is that I’m NOT on here to bust anyone’s bubble or &!$$ in your Wheaties concerning YOUR particular business opportunity! I’ve been at this home business thing for 25 years now and I GREATLY RESPECT ALL OF YOU who have the courage to try to improve your lives by starting AND PROMOTING – YOUR opportunity – WHATEVER it is!

That being said, I feel I would be doing many of you a GREAT dis-service by not revealing something else that I wish someone had shared with me MANY years ago! Yea, I could REALLY spill the beans here about the ” Home Business ” Industry, ( I do that quite well in my book! ) but again, that’s NOT my purpose here. I just want to cover a couple of things that I think may save MANY of you A LOT of time, money and even heartache – so, here goes…

First of all, I’ve noticed that MANY of you are involved in one opportunity or another that happens to be a ” START UP ” – It’s Brand New or in Pre Launch ( Oh Boy! ) or whatever. Well, since I’m not known for pulling any punches, I’m NOT going to start now, so don’t hate me for this! ( If you don’t already! )

Do you have ANY IDEA just HOW FEW Network Marketing companies or other online ” Biz-Ops ” actually survive to see there second birthday? The stats are STAGGERING! Consider that ONLY 5 % or so EVER make any money in their home business – well, the survival rate for NEW companies is even MORE DISMAL than that!!

I HATE to see people join a ” Start – Up ” and put their heart and soul ( AND MONEY! ) into their business, begin growing their down line, then POOF, the company is HISTORY! Not only is YOUR hopes and dreams ( and time and money ) dashed, but your REPUTATION and CREDIBILITY usually suffer as well, ESPECIALLY if you have ” recruited ” a few family members or friends!

” See, I told you that was a scam ” – Ouch – NO ONE wants to ever hear that and it’s only the RARE FEW that can bounce back and recover from that kind of a set back, which is EVEN HARDER the second or third… time around!

Look, I know the pitch. ” Get in on the ground floor ” – FINE – IF you are what I call a ” Super – Recruiter ” and you have a FAT WALLET to BEGIN WITH to promote your opportunity to the masses BEFORE the masses hear about it, but that’s just NOT REALITY for the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Network Marketers!

I’ve seen it ALL and I don’t care what the Company is or how GREAT the product is, Industry statistics remain the SAME. Your AVERAGE Network Marketer will jump on board, ALL EXCITED, spend A BUNCH of money on CRAP they don’t really need, and they will recruit a WHOPPING 2.7 people!

” But Dan, I’ve ALREADY recruited more than that ” – Great, good job, but aren’t you in this business TO BUILD SOMETHING THAT LASTS FOR YEARS – you know, the ” RESIDUAL INCOME ” thing ? Now come on, EVERYONE will answer YES to that question – Right?
Well WHY then – are you EVEN THINKING about BUILDING a LONG TERM, LIFE CHANGING Residual Income with a company that only has the TINIEST CHANCE of LONG TERM survival? HELLO!!!

Again, I can hear the ” But Dan’s ” – I’ve heard ‘em all! The Products are AMAZING, ( Probably ) The Company IS AMAZING ( Doubtful ) The Pay Plan IS AMAZING ( EXTREMLY DOUBTFUL ) or my favorite – THE SYSTEM does ALL THE WORK FOR YOU! ( Don’t get me started )

Guys again, WHATEVER opportunity you’re involved in GOD BLESS YOU! You have my utmost respect for wanting to improve your life and you’ve proven you have the COURAGE to lay it on the line and GO FOR IT! But I learned YEARS AGO that ” THE BIGGER THE FLASH – THE LOUDER THE CRASH!”

I’m sure your opportunity IS great, but IF they’re less than 3 or 4 years old, there chances of survival is almost NILL and SO ARE YOUR CHANCES of building anything TRULY WORTHWHILE – That’s just the way it is!

OK, let that go in one ear and out the other just like I did A FEW times in the past, but after loosing several thousand dollars on more than one occasion ( Not to mention hearing the Horror stories from COUNTLESS others over the last 25 years! ) I WILL NEVER – EVER – put MY heart and soul ( and TIME and MONEY ) in a BRAND NEW or ” Start-Up” or ” Pre- Launch ” Company EVER AGAIN !

I won’t even go into all the reasons MOST companies FAIL here, but often – IT’S INTENTIONAL! Just think ’bout that one! Guy’s THIS IS a tough BUSINESS! Most are for sure, but the Home Business Industry seems to be tougher than most considering all the CRAP you have to weed through to find the little gold nuggets!

Yes, the Gold Nuggets ARE out there, but you will RARELY if EVER find them in a Start – Up! Come on, home business IS BUSINESS! Think like a BUSINESS PERSON! Don’t get caught up in the hype, flash and promises! my philosophy is ” Oh yea, PROVE TO ME YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO SURVIVE and in a COUPLE OF YEARS, I’LL TAKE A LOOK!”

Well, I hope I haven’t rained on any parades because that was NOT my intention ! I DO however hope that ANYONE reading this who is even THINKING about getting involved in ” THE NEXT GREAT THING ” will think long and hard before signing on that dotted line and putting your HOPES, DREAMS, TIME and MONEY into it!

If you HAVE jumped on board a brand new ship, I just hope the word ” TITANIC ” isn’t written anywhere in that companies P & P’s ! ( Policies and Procedures )

Lastly, My Best Advice – and you can start hating me now, if you are involved in a START UP opportunity, Find out where the life boats are, make sure your quartered VERY close to them and keep your ears pealed for that dreaded ” Abandon Ship!”

1, WHY IS IT – that even in so called ” Legitimate ” opportunities – NINETY FIVE PERCENT of EVERYONE FAILS to even make a profit in their business ? ( I bet you have the ” Elite 5 % ” in your company too – you know, the ” Top Dogs ” ! )

2, WHY IS IT – that even with all the High Priced training programs who promise to EXPLODE YOUR DOWN LINE, NINETY FIVE PERCENT of EVERYONE STILL FAILS in their own Home Based Business ?

3, WHY IS IT – that in the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of even THE BEST of companies, they INTENTIONALLY ( YES INTENTIONALLY ) give you ” training and support ” that they KNOW FOR A FACT, based on there own statistics, DOESN’T WORK ? ( If it did, WHY do 95 % FAIL ? )

4, WHY IS IT – that in WHATEVER COMPANY you may be involved in, you can name SO FEW people, OTHER than the ” Top Dogs ” – who can HONESTLY say that there making AT LEAST $ 500 to $ 1000 a month PROFIT after ALL their expenses ?

I’m even going to add this little question – WHY IS IT – that even so many who DO start to achieve a certain level of success in their opportunity, all of a sudden – POOF – the company either FOLDS or DRAMATICALLY changes their pay plan – drastically cutting into your income ?

Oh I couldn’t resist – WHY IS IT – that Network Marketing companies disguise their pay plans to the point of – 99% of EVERYONE who gets involved with them HAS NO IDEA HOW MANY PEOPLE IT WILL TAKE in their down lines to reach their goals ? ( You have learned about the ” Magic Question ” haven’t you? )

I could ask you another DOZEN or so more questions that also PROVE, beyond a shadow of a doubt that – YOU ARE BEING LIED TO, SCAMMED, CHEATED and RIPPED OFF by the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of even the so-called ” LEGITIMATE ” Home Based Business Opportunities – Network Marketing Companies and otherwise !! ( Sorry, but probably YOURS TOO ! )

The fact is, most people have these ” Negative ” debilitating thoughts anywhere from 500 to 2000 times a day, often without even realizing it. Hold your head up HIGH, whoever you are and KNOW, deep down inside just how VALUABLE you really are, and before long, those thoughts of ” I’m not worthy ” will fade away into the nothingness from which they came!

YOU ARE WORTHY of the success that you seek! As worthy as ANY man or woman who has ever lived! In fact, you are WORTH MILLIONS and so much more! Never let a thought or another person EVER tell you different!

Are you simply looking for a part time work from home job,where you can make a little extra income every month ? Or, are you looking for a home based business opportunity that you can, maybe start part time and grow it into something that will allow you to escape the rat race ? Or maybe something in between?

Whatever your REAL goals and motivation is, my FIRST little bit of advice would be… BE CAREFUL ! Why would I start with that advice ? Simple !

Even in a GREAT economy,some studies have shown that as much as 93% of EVERY income opportunity you see online is simply a flat out scam ! The worse the economy gets, obviously the more desperate many people get to make ends meet.

Well it’s sad to say that the Hucksters and scam artists know full well that millions are looking to make extra money from home and they seem to be coming out of the woodwork like never before ! The ” Pie in the Sky ” B.S. is absolutely exploding online right now and literally thousands of people A DAY are falling for there slick presentations and promises of ” Fast Money ” !

Please, don’t do it ! If you’re coming from a point of absolute desperation – if you simply MUST have extra money NOW – by all means – GET A PART TIME JOB if you can ! Think about this, when you go Grocery shopping, have you noticed that if you go into the Supermarket when you’re STARVING, you inevitably end up buying much more than you planned on buying ! It NEVER fails !

Well, if you’re ” starving ” for extra money, you’re defences are down ! You’re running on pure EMOTION ! You WANT to believe those rediculous promises of quick, ” Easy ” money ! You NEED to believe it ! You are MUCH LESS likely to do your due diligence and check that ” opportunity ” out before you click that ” Buy Now ” button !

Again, if you’re in these shoes, TURN YOUR COMPUTER OFF and look for a second or part time job !

Now, let’s flip this coin over. Say you are NOT coming from a point of desperation. No, I’m not saying that everything may be Rosy, but you’re lights aren’t about to be turned off either. To you I say – EDUCATE YOURSELF FIRST ! You are vulnerable to these scam artists too and unless you know how to spot them, you are just as likely to be ” Taken ” as anyone else !

The sad thing is, you may be looking or already involved with a home based business opportunity, but you most likely didn’t EDUCATE YOURSELF FIRST ! Now don’t get mad at me for saying that ! I’ve been there more times than you can believe ! I’ve ” signed up ” into opportunities that I KNEW were legitimate ( Publicly Traded etc… ) but I knew NOTHING about compensation plans and how to evaluate them to see if they were designed for the way I wanted to run my business or NOT !

So many people are already involved in companies that almost always have DYNAMITE products, but their Compensation Plans are designed for hard charging super salesmen who, well simply put, LOVE TO SELL ! Do you ? Personally, I DON’T !

I’ve looked at hundreds of these ” Legitimate ” Home Business opportunities over the years and the more I learned about comp. plans, the more I discovered that you had to have THOUSANDS of people in your down line to make any REAL money with 99% of these guys!

Sorry, I just DONT want to be a Professional Salesman for the rest of MY life ! Do You ? If not, EDUCATE YOURSELF ! Believe it or not, there are companies out there that only require Hundreds in your down line to make the BIG BUX – NOT THOUSANDS !

Never forget, it’s NOT how many YOU can recruit, it’s how many those you recruit can recruit ! Make sense ? Make it easier on yourself AND THEM, find a company that DOESN’T require a LIFETIME of recruiting, put blinders on, go to work – even part time, and within a year or two, the Rat Race will be a fading memory !

So Dan, what Home Based Business are you involved in ? “

Yep, you bet I get this question – in one form or another – ALL THE TIME on Face Book or Twitter and elsewhere, and my reply is always the same. ” I teach people the truth about the Home Business Industry ! “

Occasionally I hear – ” How do you Make Money Online By doing that ? “

Guys, of course I have a Primary home business that I promote ! One that’s taken me YEARS of research and ” Trial and error ” to find – and yes, one who I personally believe is at the top of the heap of the THOUSAND PLUS that I have reviewed ! Of course it is or I wouldn’t be waisting my time on it !

So, WHY don’t I just come out and tell people what my primary opportunity is ? Simple, here’s why…

I REFUSE to work with people who are either UNEDUCATED about the home business industry as a whole – and I REFUSE to work with those I call ” OPPORTUNITY SEEKERS ” !

Simple enough isn’t it ? Here’s my reasoning…

I’ve been involved in the home business industry, in one way or another for 25 YEARS now ! You have NO IDEA the number of people I’ve ” Recruited ” into this or that over the years who got involved in my business and within a month or two I hear ” Dan, I just heard about this new Start-up or Pre-Launch that looks amazing ! I’m gonna try it out BUT I’ll stay in XYZ with you too ! “

Now do you REALLY think this guy ever ended up makin’ BEANS in EITHER opportunity ? Well of course not ! He was simply uneducated about the home business industry and yea, I had sure WASTED a lot of my time with him ! ( Sorry, that’s just the facts )

Or how ’bout this one – ” Well Dan, it’s been a few months and yea I’ve brought in a few people BUT I just don’t think this is working out for me ! ” Sure, occasionally I could CONVINCE this guy that he was closer than he thought to making some good money, but more often than not, he was just looking for a get rich QUICK deal to begin with ! His FIRE and enthusiasm was gone ! He was UNEDUCATED about the home business industry !

I could give you a few DOZEN other examples of being UNEDUCATED about the home business industry – like those of you in one ” program ” or another that pays you 50 CENTS or a dollar on each of your downline members every month and you thinking it’s actually REALISTIC that you’re gonna GET RICH like that !

Or those of you involved with a company that may have GREAT products but the WORLD’S WORST compensation plan ! Do you KNOW how to properly evaluate a companies comp. plan to see if it’s designed for the way YOU want to run YOUR business or if it’s designed for the FULL TIME ” Super Recruiter ” that ALREADY has deep pockets ? Be good to know wouldn’t it ????

NOW do you understand why I don’t ” RECRUIT ” the way 95% of EVERYONE ELSE recruits ?
NOW do you see why I only talk about my Home Business Opportunity with those who ARE EDUCATED about this industry ? Makes pretty good sense doesn’t it ?

So, HOW does one BECOME EDUCATED about the home business industry as QUICKLY and INEXPENSIVELY as possible ? Well, actually it’s A LOT easier than you may think ! I’ll give you the simple steps right now and how long YOU take to complete them is completely up to you…

Step 1 – log on to my Squidoo site called ” NO BULL HOME BUSINESS ADVICE. ” It’s just above to the right on the side bar of this Blog. ( See it ? ) This little site will teach you two or three things that you simply MUST KNOW if you want to succeed in your own home based business – WHATEVER success means to you !

It will take you only 30 minutes to an hour at the most to thoroughly cover what’s there – BUT – BE WARNED ! If you are currently involved in a Home Based Business opportunity, MLM or otherwise, you may learn a thing or two that you simply don’t want to think about !

You MAY learn that your ” Loyalty ” is ” Misplaced ” and your ” Opportunity ” is really NO opportunity at all ! You WON’T be the first who cusses me, ( although I don’t publish those comments – Would YOU ? ) but YOU WILL take a GIANT and RAPID step towards becoming EDUCATED about this industry ! Even those who pitch there opportunities on me, even though I may know MORE about that particular company than they do, even though that particular company may require 1000 to 10,000 or more in their down line for them to make at least 10K a month in RESIDUAL INCOME – well, I can’t just come out and say – ” Hey, whadda you doin’ – do you want to be recruiting for the rest of your LIFE to make any REAL money ” ?

When we make a decision, especially a business decision – we WANT TO BELIEVE that we made the RIGHT decision ! That our choice was CORRECT ! Even when faced with OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE that – that decision may NOT have been a good one, not everyone can say to themselves – ” Crap, boy did I buy a line of Hooey ” !

No, MOST will keep pluggin’ in absolutely terrible opportunities instead of FACING THE FACTS of – ” Crap, boy did I buy a line of Hooey ” ! They’re so SOLD on the idea that their decision – MUST have been THE RIGHT decision because to admit anything else means admitting A MISTAKE and NOT MANY people can easily do this !

Gee, do you think I’m speaking from experience ? You have NO IDEA the MISTAKES I’ve made in the past ! The silly ” Get Rich Quick ” – ” Programs ” I USED TO sign up for ! The companies I USED TO get involved with that ALL had GREAT PRODUCTS – and sometimes, I may have even LIKED my sponsor !

It never failed though ! The more I learned about the Home Business/ MLM industry AS A WHOLE, the more I started asking TOUGH QUESTIONS of my up lines ! Usually, even the one’s I LIKED didn’t know the answers, or THEY DID and they beat around the bush like a politician without ever answering my questions !

I’ve seen it happen to filthy rich executives as much as those who are flat broke and I’ve CERTAINLY experienced it myself ! Right NOW, they’re literally MILLIONS of people who BOUGHT THE HYPE, not just of the BLATENTLY OBVIOUS Scams and Hustles out there, ( There COUNTLESS in number ) but of supposedly Legit company’s who HIDE THINGS FROM YOU that you wouldn’t believe !

Yea, I KNOW their PRODUCTS are DYNAMITE ! I KNOW their owners and ” Top Dogs ” drive Rolls Royce’s’ or whatever ! I ALSO KNOW that NINETY FIVE PERCENT of EVERYONE involved with them WILL FAIL as a Marketer/Distributor !

When you REALLY get into the study of this industry, you start to see certain ” Patterns ” ! One of the patterns is the PERSONALITY TYPE of those WHO ARE very successful in Network Marketing ! Call ‘em your ” Hard charging salesmen ” types ! They are DYNAMITE at the “Close” and a lot of the time, MLM is just another sales job for them ! Are you ready for this ?…

The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Network Marketing company’s today, DESIGN THEIR COMPENSATION PLANS for these hard charging salesmen ! Why, BECAUSE THEY CAN SELL of course !! Not to mention, these guys, ( Who I call ” Super Recruiters ” by the way ) can AFFORD to work their businesses FULL TIME !

Hmm… put these two FACTS together… The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of those who get involved in MLM, do so ON A PART TIME BASIS ! Combine that with the FACT that only 5 to 8 PERCENT of the population ARE HARD CHARGING SALESMEN types !

Is it starting to click just a little ! Why do NINETY FIVE PERCENT FAIL IN MLM ! Drum roll please… BECAUSE THEY GET INVOLVED IN COMPANY’S WHO INTENTIONALLY DESIGN THEIR COMP. PLANS FOR FULL TIME PROFESSIONAL SALES PEOPLE ! 95% FAIL, only 5% or so are Pro. Sales people ! DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT’S A COINCIDENCE ?

It’s actually WORSE than that ! These companies KNOW you only have a 5% chance of success, they know this from their OWN stats. ! That’s why they try to make as much cash on you as possible, as FAST as possible – ’cause they know that 95% of you will last – oh, ’bout 4 months !!

Here’s one I REALLY don’t understand ?? EVEN these ” Super Recruiters ” get involved with company’s that require THOUSANDS of people in their down lines to make a RESIDUAL INCOME of at least 10K a month ! WHY ? BECAUSE THEY’RE SALESMEN ! They’re after that big fat ” Recruiting Bonus ” – Duh…

What I don’t understand is – WHY they don’t choose company’s that offer the BEST of both worlds ? A NICE recruiting bonus and a NICE amount of $$$ PER MONTH from those they recruit ! I could give you so many examples of people I’ve known over the years who were DYNAMITE sales people, and could RECRUIT, RECRUIT, RECRUIT till the Cows came home, and when the Company changed it’s Comp. Plan, drastically cutting those ” Recruiting Bonuses ” – There RESIDUAL COMMISSIONS WERE PEANUTS because that particular company had FRONT LOADED it’s comp. plan for who ? SALESMEN ! HELLO>>>

Guys, if you want to be a SUPER RECRUITER for EVER, that’s fine ! I’ll do all I can to support you ! Look around on this Blog ! I bet you’ll learn here ! HOWEVER, for ALL of you that DON’T consider yourselves HARD CHARGING SALESMEN types – ask yourselves – ” Hmm, I WONDER if MY COMPANY’S COMP. PLAN was designed for FULL TIME SALESMEN or the OTHER NINETY FIVE percent of the population ?

Now, ask yourself – ” Which group AM I IN ” ?

Dan Luther here with what I feel to be one of my most important messages ! The title above pretty much says it all, but let’s take a closer look…

So many times over the years, I’ve been approached by someone looking to get me involved in one business opportunity or another. Now I’m not going to be talking about your standard ” Brick and Mortar ” business here, that’s a different animal entirely.

Can you imagine how many Network Marketing Opportunities I’ve been presented with over the last 25 years or so ? Hundreds, maybe THOUSANDS ? I can’t keep track myself, but I have kept track of THE APPROACH used by all these different people, and more often than not – it was quiet clear that they didn’t give a rats #%@ about me !

All I was, was a DOLLAR SIGN to them and it came through loud and clear in how they approached me about their opportunity ! Big money this and Big money that – money, money, money was ALL they usually talked about !

Did they ask me about my goals or dreams ? Usually not ! Did they ask me about what REALLY motivated me in life ? Again NO ! All they talked about was MONEY !

Guys, this may be a shocker to some of you but MONEY, in and of it’s self – IS NOT the main motivation for MILLIONS and MILLIONS of people – ME being one of them ! Money is just the ” Thing ” we USE to get the things we really want in life, whatever they may be !

Now, before I get off on a tangent about Dreams, desires and goals, I want to talk about how we feel when we get the strong impression from someone that they could CARE LESS about us as human beings – and the only thing THEY care about is the MONEY there going to make off us IF they ” recruit ” us in whatever opportunity there pitching on us !

Dosen’t feel to good does it ? It’s amazing how perceptive most people are ! We can usually sense pretty quickly what the other persons TRUE motivations REALLY are ! Do they REALLY give a hoot about us or just the buck they’re going to make off us ? How much help and support can you ( WE ) really expect from someone who could really care less about us ? NOT MUCH !

Usually, these people are what I call ” Recruiting Machines ” and they REALLY DON’T care about us or our success, because when they have made that big fat recruiting bonus off of us, they simply move on to the next dollar sign – I mean person ! They look at Network Marketing as a SALES JOB – and YOU and I are not PEOPLE, we’re just another SALE !

So, are you in this business just to make another sale ? Or, are you in it for the long run – to build something that can last for years and maybe even a life time ? Those answers are obviously up to you, but NOT GIVING A CRAP about others IS NOT what this business is SUPPOSED to be all about !

This is one of the BIGGEST MISTAKES I see so many people make in this business – treating others like numbers and not the INDIVIDUALS with INDIVIDUAL HOPES and DREAMS ! If you can’t muster up some GENUINE caring and compassion for your fellow human beings, Network Marketing IS NOT for you !

This is a People business ! A RELATIONSHIP business, and I’d rather have 100 caring, compassionate people in my down line who DID give a %#@& about those THEY recruit, than 1000 ” pushy Salesman ” types who are just lookin for a fast buck !

Just think about it a little ! Who would you prefer to be ” Sponsored ” by, Some one that spent some time getting to know you and your dreams, and who worked diligently to help you achieve those dreams – Or the ” Super Recruiter ” that could care less about you or your dreams ? Kinda a no brainer isn’t it !

Guys, people pick up on your TRUE motivations whether you know it or not ! If you’re NOT genuine, THEY’LL KNOW and will be much less likely to want to do a good job for you ! Show them YOU CARE and that YOU BELIEVE IN THEM and they’ll MOVE MOUNTAINS for themselves, which in this business, means moving mountains FOR YOU !

Never forget the words of the BRILLIANT Zig Ziggler ” You can get WHATEVER it is you want in life, if you just HELP enough OTHER PEOPLE get what THEY want ” ! So, if you’re new to this business, or maybe you’re just not getting anywhere in your opportunity, why not take the focus OFF of yourself and put it on others !

Make THEIR DREAMS equally and even MORE IMPORTANT than your own, and not only watch them respond, but watch YOUR DREAMS just magically take care of themselves !
